We vacationed in St Pete the week of 10/24 and while there we ate at your restaurant. We wanted to let a you know how much we enjoyed everything about our experience there. My husband had the shrimp linguine with veggies, I had the chicken caesar salad. They were both delicious. I can't remember our servers name but he did a great job. He was couteous and knowledgable.
We had a great house chardonnay that we'd like the name of if you'd be so kind as to pass it along to us. I just remember Coastal was part of the name.
On our next visit to that area, we will definitely return and we'll tell our friends who visit that area to check it out.
Thanks again.

Fantastic!  4 Star Rating - Very good

The she crab soup is amazing. It has a pub atmosphere and was a lot of fun. Prices are reasonable and all of the food was great! We saw Keegans on the food channel and we definitly had a great experience.

My daughter and I are fans of "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," and this is the fourth restaurant we've visited that was featured on the show. This was my favorite. Great seafood, reasonable prices, and something for everyone (my wife is a vegetarian and one of my daughters hates seafood, and they also had great meals). Highly recommended.

So good we came here twice!  I can see why Guy Fieri featured them on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."  No one in our group had a bad meal on either visit, be it the grouper reuben (lunch special), crab salad pita, raw and steamed oysters, crab cakes, blackened grouper, she-crab soup or gumbo.  I am probably forgetting a thing or two on that list, but you get the point.  The real highlights were the grouper reuben, she-crab soup and gumbo.

With something for everyone, this is a great family restaurant.   The bar is decorated with coloring book pages, there are fish tanks decorating the walls, and the beer and wine selection is above par.   Like I said, fun for the whole family

We were in Clearwater Beach this past week, and wanted something different for lunch.  So we looked up our favorite food network show, "Diners Drive-ins & Dives"  and found that Keegans was close by, on Indian Rocks Beach.  So we took a little drive there.
Well at first glance when we pulled in the parking lot my wife started having second thoughts.  The place is pretty plain looking from the outside, and no patio.  we were there a little before noon on a weekday so seating was not a problem.
I am not a big fish eater, but my wife is.  I had ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer, and it was pretty good.  My wife ordered the grouper sandwich, and she loved it!  The Kids Loved this place because they had corn dogs and burgers!
Great place to bring the kids!  they have a couple of fish tanks that the kids loved looking at.  no frills just good food, and great service!  very nice people working there too!  My next trip to clearwater will include a couple visits to Keegan's

My husband and I visited your restaurant last night (June 1st) for supper.  We wanted to drop you a short e-mail to let you know that we had a wonderful meal and really enjoyed the hospitality of your staff.  My husband had the Wahoo dinner and I had the Grouper sandwich with pasta salad and gumbo soup.  We thought the gator appetizer was wonderful.  We never had it prepared like that before.  We also split the Pecan Pie dessert.  Oh my gosh it was soooo good.  We saw the episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and we had to check you out.  We were not disappointed and wanted to let you know about our visit.  If any of our friends visit the Tampa area we will definitely recommend they come visit you because I know we will.  You have a great evening and keep up the excellent work!

Being from the midwest we enjoy finding small local seafood places. There is nothing special or fancy at Keegan's but we had some of the best seafood ever! One of us land lubbers even had an awesome burger. We loved the casual atmosphere.

We specifically stopped at this location as suggested by Guy Fieri. I have the She Crab soup & my husband had a blackened Grouper Sandwich. Both were excellent. The wait staff was extremely friendly and very eager to meet all of our needs. Expense for what we had was reasonable. Husband wants to go back to try the Louisiana style blackened gator tail.

  • I took my family to dinner at Keegan's -- everyone was astounded! The salmon special, fried calamari, oysters, and shecrab soup were all superb. The friendliest of staff made you feel right at home and was attentive to every request. Can't wait to go back. Joan Eisner

Best bang for your buck in the Tampa area! Listen closely to the specials and save room for the key lime pie. My husband loved the she crab soup

    She crab soup!

There’s a lot of little seafood joints in Indian Rocks but after doing the rounds we kept coming back to Keegan’s. Cute atmosphere, nice staff, and awesome specials. My sister got picky the last day and mixed and matched some sauces and sides and fish from different menu items and ended up with the best salmon I’ve ever had – and I’ve been to Alaska!
    Thanks Keegan’s!!

December 23, 2008 - just had our third really good meal (12/23/08). great service and super food--salmon, cajun, oyster sandwich, she crab soup....we're going to come back ALOT.   Plus good house wine for a decent price--but we'd write this review even without some wine in us!

Oh Keegan's....how I miss you. Now that I live in Chicago, I don't get to come here as often as I used to. This restaurant is such a gem.

My family and I have been going to Keegan's for years, long before they were a two room restaurant and were featured on The Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". I've heard there is a new owner, but the food still seems about the same, even though the menu is a bit different. The chef there is one of the best, imo. He consistently comes up with these creative, unique, fusion dishes, packed full of flavor and surprise.

When I was younger, my favorite dish was a simple Parmesan crusted Mahi Mahi sandwich, but now that I'm older and willing to try any dish, their specials are the first thing I read. Some favorites have included a wasabi grouper dish and a jerk fish dish served on a plank.  I recommend trying a special. They will blow your mind and taste buds. Also, you must have the shrimp Leones. Mmm, I dream about the sauce that comes with it.

The appearance of this place is no thrills, typical kitschy Florida. The food though is positively 5 star.  I hope Keegan's always retains its local, hole-in-the-wall attitude and charm.

From Canada, we have fallen in love with Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...

So we made the drive from Bradenton Beach to Indian Rocks, over an hour...but well worth the trip...

From the Skyway Bridge to driving up the intercoastal waterway...the scenery was fantastic...

Small, and decorated lightly...even busy at 1:30pm after the lunch crowd...3 to 4 other tables still eating...

Waitress was a transplant and extremely friendly...had the crab soup, the 'famous' grilled octopus and conch fritters...things I have never tried before...my wife stuck with the burger...but did try a little of the more adventurous meal...lol..

Everything was great...not anything to complain about...

Got my picture with Guy's poster in the background...so I am a happy camper...

My parents are going to drive up when they go down next month...and I am sure they will enjoy it also...

    Thanks for a great meal...

This is a great little spot in IRB! We are originally from the area but now live on the East Coast. We alway's try to go to Keegan's if we have time. I have never had a bad meal here and they always have a great selection of specials. We generally get a lot of take out apps and slug down a pitcher of their White Sangria ( this is one of the main reasons we come!) while we are waiting. They make it homemade and it is awesome! If you are a visiting tourist (which we are now, unfortunatley) try Keegan's and hang with the local's. You won't be dissappointed!
